We have arrived back in the UK, what a journey :) The Alfa is due to be auctioned at Banjul Stadium on Saturday 28th Jan. We will put up pictures and a summary of the trip over the coming weeks, after we have finished extracting sand from our ears and I have woken up from my Malarone-induced stupor. Cook Pass!

...so we will be leaving tomorrow for morocco instead! Good new years was had by all. We have had a cool day fixing cars and hanging around chatting and drinking. Got donated some leaky petrol cans and one promptly leaked all over the back seat :( everything stinks of diesel now. Off to camp in Tarifa tonight. A few casulaties from last nights drinking session but everyone is in high spirits.

We are in Scroteville. First day on the road involved 25 hours straight of driving. We couldn`t stand the thought of camping and then waking up only to realise we were still in the land of onions (france). Hopefully leave for africa ca ca ca tomorrow. The Totalrock.com logos have arrived (many thanks to Mark @ SurreySigns for sorting that out) and after an hour and a heat gun - are stuck down tight. All bits likely to fall off (lights etc) were zip tied onto the car. Chris, lacking confidence in my welds, also decides to zip tie the roof rack to the roof. A 600W mains inverter was also installed to power the laptop and various camera

It was undecided weather or not a roof rack would be a good idea or not so we decided to make one anyway. Roofbars alone from a local shop were quoted at £80 so we went to a local metal recycling yard and picked up some material to make our creation from. Finally we managed to get 'The Edgewater' looking something like the way it should. Taxi checkers down the sides and PBC team logos plastered all over. Now all we need is a taxi light box for the roof... When the possibility of appearing in the 'Suffolk Free Press' newspaper arose, we wasted no time in dressing up like twats and taking photos to send in. Publish date TBC.

Brakes on "The Edgewater" were grinding metal against metal when we test drove it so some cheap new pads were obtained to sort this out. As you can see, there was pretty much nothing left of the friction material on the pad. Unfortunately changing the front pads on a 33 is not as simple as some other cars and the calipers had to be removed and disassembled / bled etc etc. Unfortunately
